About The Position
Virginia Wesleyan University (becoming Batten University on July 1), a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for a Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Virginia Wesleyan is located in Virginia Beach, VA, and sponsors 24 varsity sports teams, supporting almost 500 student-athletes. The qualified applicant will report to the Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The head coach will direct all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier

- Master’s degree preferred
- College coaching experience
Responsibilities
- Recruitment of quality student-athletes
- Scheduling
- Managing and coaching games
- Planning and conducting practices
- Organizing team travel
- Monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress
- Equipment maintenance and purchases
- Budget management
- Fundraising
- Administrative duties required to maintain a competitive women’s lacrosse program
- Thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA, Old Dominion Athletic Conference and institutional rules and regulations
