About The Position

The PVMHS Head Volleyball Coach for Fall 2026 will be responsible for all aspects of the volleyball program, including coaching, athletic discipline, and adherence to departmental policies. This role requires modeling ethical behavior, developing practice plans, ensuring facility safety, and managing game-day operations. The coach will also be responsible for processing necessary paperwork and collaborating with community members involved in youth sports. Direct supervision of squad members at home and away contests, as well as those transported by school buses, is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School Level Volleyball and/or High School Level coaching experience required
  • First Aid/CPR required
  • MIAA/NFHS Coaches Certification required

Responsibilities

  • Model behaviors outlined in the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, especially sportsmanship.
  • Have full control of the team in all matters pertaining to coaching and athletic discipline.
  • Implement Peabody Athletic Department policies and team rules.
  • Stay informed of rule changes, trends, and recommendations affecting volleyball.
  • Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached.
  • Develop an organized written practice plan including warm-up and cool-down procedures.
  • Model professional and healthy behaviors, leading by example in appearance, manners, language, and conduct.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are safe and that safety procedures are taught and followed.
  • Perform all duties/responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletics.
  • Implement game plans and game management.
  • Process medical forms, parent consent forms, and eligibility reports.
  • Work with community members involved in youth sports.
  • Directly supervise squad members at home and away contests.
  • Supervise all team members transported by school buses.
