About The Position

This is a unique opportunity to step into a Head Veterinary Nurse role with exposure to Practice Management, perfect for someone ready to take the next step in their career or an experienced leader looking for a new challenge. You’ll remain clinically hands-on, while also gaining valuable experience across leadership, operations, and people management — all supported by an experienced Practice Manager who will mentor and guide you.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Confident across all aspects of veterinary nursing, including anaesthesia and surgery
  • An interest in leadership, with either proven experience or readiness to step up
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
  • A genuine passion for patient care and delivering excellent client experiences
  • A team-first attitude with the ability to lead by example

Responsibilities

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the nursing team day-to-day
  • Coordinating workflow to ensure smooth and efficient clinic operations
  • Supporting vets across anaesthesia, surgery, and patient care
  • Maintaining high clinical standards, protocols, and patient outcomes
  • Managing rostering and contributing to team performance and engagement
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering, and equipment management
  • Supporting client experience, including handling feedback and complaints
  • Promoting a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
