As a Head Usher, you’ll play a visible leadership role in delivering exceptional performing arts experiences every night. Your shift begins with energy and purpose. As a Head Usher, you’re supervising usher teams, preparing for patron arrivals, and setting the tone for the evening. Doors open—you're welcoming guests, problem-solving in real time, and supervising flow, seating, and safety. During the show, you stay alert, supervising operations and ensuring a seamless performing arts experience. When the curtain falls, you wrap up knowing you helped create something memorable.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years customer service experience in performing arts, hospitality, or events
  • 1–2 years supervising or leadership experience
  • Strong professional communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm while supervising in fast-paced environments
  • Physical ability to stand long periods of time, climb stairs, walk, move throughout the venue, and push/pull and lift 20lbs or more.
  • Physical ability to hear and respond clearly in noisy environments.
  • Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to work a minimum of two shifts per month is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise usher volunteers
  • Deliver exceptional service during all performing arts events
  • Manage guest flow, seating, and accessibility needs
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed while supervising operations
  • Handle patron concerns with professionalism and confidence
  • Collaborate with FOH leadership using strong professional communication
  • Support a polished, welcoming performing arts environment
