About The Position

To provide leadership, organization, coaching, and supervision for the Shawnee Family YMCA youth swim team. The Head Coach is responsible for developing and implementing a safe, structured, positive, and competitive swimming program that promotes youth development, healthy living, sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual swimmer development. The Head Coach works directly with the YMCA CEO to establish program goals, schedules, procedures, staffing needs, and standards of performance.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have at least 3 years of documented experience as a swim coach
• Must hold all required certifications prior to being scheduled to work.
• Must possess the leadership skills, communication ability, swimming knowledge, organizational ability, physical ability, and judgment required to successfully manage the above scope of duties.

Responsibilities

• Promote youth development, healthy living, sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual swimmer development.
