About The Position

The Head Start Teacher Assistant will work under the assignment of the campus administrator. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an Associate's Degree or 48 college hours. The candidate must be eligible to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate upon hire. Experience working with children or youth in various capacities is essential, and good communication skills with students and adults are necessary. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred. The position demands the physical strength and stamina to work with energetic young children.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be eligible to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate upon hire
• Experience working with children/youth is a must. This may include babysitting, volunteer work, church group, care of siblings/minors or educational prep-programs.
• Good communication skills with both students and adults
