About The Position

Join our team as a Head Start Teacher Assistant! Seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual passionate about making a difference in young children’s lives. Position: Teacher Assistant Program and Location: Cozad Head Start, Cozad Position Summary: The Teacher Assistant is responsible for providing Teacher support in the classroom. They also provide a safe, pleasant, active learning and problem-solving environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Willing to enroll in a child development associate credential program to be completed within 2 years (if no CDA credential is held).

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

Responsibilities

Assist with implementation of the curriculum, which includes active learning and practices that are developmentally appropriate.
Assist with completion of the Child Assessment to document child outcomes through anecdotal notes and other documentation.
Assist in conducting initial and mid-year home visits along with parent/staff conferences.
Assume the role and responsibility of other center positions during staff absences.
Assist in classroom management and lesson planning/implementation.
Assist in the implementation of oral health practices.
Assist in meeting Individual Education Plan goals.
Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior.
Assist with completion of development and social emotional screenings for each child.
Assist Teacher in completing child growth assessments.
Assist with completion of Child Development Plans.
Assist with and attend Head Start events as needed.
