About The Position

Under the daily supervision of the Teacher, the Paraprofessional supports the teaching team with all aspects of classroom and child supervision and care. The position is responsible for child health, development, and safety, and for ensuring program rules, applicable laws, and agency policies and protocols, are followed. Kansas Children's Service League (KCSL) is a statewide, nonprofit agency founded in 1893 that serves thousands of Kansas children and families each year. KCSL’s mission is to protect and promote the well-being of children. Their programs work with children and families in the areas of health, safety and education to succeed and break cycles of neglect, abuse and trauma. They help both children and parents develop skills for success in their families, schools and workplaces. KCSL is the Kansas chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and Circle of Parents.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Demonstrated awareness of the challenges and strengths of children and families living with lower incomes and/or special needs.

Nice To Haves

Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certification from the Council for Professional Recognition, preferred education listed below or the ability to obtain a CDA within two years from hire date.
Bilingual - English and Spanish
Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.
At least one year of paid experience working with infants and toddlers.
