About The Position

Kansas Children's Service League is hiring a full-time Early Head Start Paraprofessional in Garden City, Kansas. The role pays $14 per hour and follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional evenings and weekends. Under the daily supervision of the Teacher, the Paraprofessional supports the teaching team with classroom activities and the supervision and care of children. The position is responsible for children's health, development, and safety, and for ensuring that program rules, applicable laws, and agency policies and protocols are followed. The role includes providing a welcoming, nurturing, trauma-informed experience for students and ensuring regulations and policies are followed. Kansas Children's Service League is a statewide nonprofit agency founded in 1893. Its mission is to protect and promote the well-being of children through programs focused on health, safety, and education.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certification from the Council for Professional Recognition, preferred education listed in the posting, or the ability to obtain a CDA within two years of the hire date.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Demonstrated awareness of the challenges and strengths of children and families living with lower incomes and/or special needs.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education.
At least one year of paid experience working with infants and toddlers.
