About The Position

York County Community Action Corp. (YCCAC) is seeking a passionate Head Start Lead Teacher to join their team. YCCAC is dedicated to ensuring all people in York County thrive by meeting urgent needs, creating opportunities, promoting well-being, and advocating for just policies. The Head Start program provides high-quality child care and comprehensive education, health, and well-being services to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a warm and supportive environment where children and families can thrive.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood
• Experience working with children in a center-based setting
• Willing to work flexible hours to meet families’ needs.
• Immunized against MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis).
• Must be able to pass a background check, to include DHHS and fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior experience working with families and supervising others

Responsibilities

• Partnering with families to develop child focused goals that meet individual needs.
• Planning, implementing and documenting a comprehensive child development program suitable for preschoolers.
• Building positive and supportive relationships with children and families.
• Coordinating the daily operations of the classroom while supervising the activities of 1 or more staff members.
