The Head Start/Early Head Start - CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) Specialist, under the supervision of the Health Services Manager, ensures nutrition services are provided in accordance with State and Federal guidelines. This role is responsible for tracking and record keeping of nutrition and food services, including meal orders, deliveries, invoices, and meal claiming and monitoring. The specialist will also assist in writing and monitoring the Nutrition Service Area Plan annually, establish policies and procedures for the nutrition portion of the program with parents and staff, administer and comply with CACFP and Head Start regulations, estimate food supply needs, and serve as the CACFP resource for teachers, home visitors, and family services staff.
