About The Position

This role is at the Ascension Child Development Center in Bellwood, IL. The schedule is day shift, PRN, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. The Head Start Assistant Teacher will plan and implement activities consistent with student abilities, interests, and educational plans. This includes assisting with school inclusion, curriculum development, workshop/life skills, speech and language, art, music, and adaptive physical education. The role also involves providing staff in-services and encouraging student independence in communication, decision-making, and other activities.

Requirements

High School diploma equivalency and 2 years of cumulative experience OR an Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
Experience working in a preschool, Head Start, or other educational setting with young children is required
Must be at least 19 years old and hold a high school diploma or GED
