Assistant Teacher - Head Start
About The Position
Child Focus is seeking a caring and dedicated Head Start Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood team. In this role, you will work alongside teaching staff to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where young children can learn, explore, and grow. The Assistant Teacher will help implement a research-based curriculum, engage children in meaningful learning experiences, and support their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in implementing a research-based curriculum.
- Engage positively with children through play, learning activities, and daily classroom routines.
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining classroom materials and learning activities.
- Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and grow.
- Support the teacher in meeting the individual needs of children and families.
- Work cooperatively with teachers and other team members.
- Assist with light classroom cleaning and organization.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
