Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated coaching and recruiting experience
Knowledge of NCAA, University, and Intercollegiate Athletics policies and compliance expectations.
Ability to recruit and evaluate academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
Skill in developing practice plans, game strategies, and training approaches.
Ability to support student-athlete academic success and personal growth.
Skill in budget monitoring, purchasing activities, and administrative coordination.
Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, staff, campus partners, and external stakeholders.
Lead diverse teams to support the operational mission and vision of employers by fostering an ethical, inclusive and collegial work environment.
Demonstrated ability to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadership.
Lead varying initiatives through a collaborative, service-oriented and communicative approach.
Demonstrated commitment to employee development, recognition, and accountability to further operational goals.

Responsibilities

Overseeing all areas of the softball program including coaching and implementing practice plans
Identifying, evaluating and recruiting athletically and academically qualified student-athletes
Administrative tasks, such as travel arrangements
Fostering academic endeavors and personal growth of student-athletes
Fundraising
Oversees all recruitment initiatives for the softball program, including identifying prospective student-athletes, determining the timing and/or setting(s) of pursuing recruits, and offering scholarships, as appropriate and considering any budgetary restrictions.
Oversees, establishes, and/or coordinates practice dates and times, game strategies, and training strategies for the softball program, in order to remain competitive at the Division I level.
Oversees academic initiatives, coordinates with the Matador Achievement Center (MAC) communications to help address academic issues, and supports student-athletes in academic endeavors.
