About The Position

We are looking to have a chat with seasoned heads of warehouse, experienced warehouse managers, or supervisors who are ready to move up into a more senior leadership role within a highly regulated oil & gas environment. This is a key position hired directly under Metson Marine Services Inc. and will be assigned to one of our client sites. The role carries a high level of responsibility across operational execution, safety, compliance, team leadership, systems oversight, and client engagement, ensuring materials are accurately staged and available to support outbound shipment schedules. The Head of Warehouse will be responsible for coordinating warehouse and dockside activities across two facilities, driving operational consistency, supporting regulatory readiness, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role includes direct leadership of teams, development of staff, and oversight of warehouse systems and operational tools to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and efficient workflow management. In addition, the role serves as a key client-facing representative of Metson Marine Services, ensuring strong communication and operational alignment with site stakeholders.

Requirements

  • OSHA standards and workplace safety compliance
  • HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response)
  • Hazardous materials handling and hazardous waste management practices
  • Environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulatory compliance in industrial settings
  • Familiarity with California hazardous waste and regulatory requirements
  • Strong background in warehouse, logistics, or industrial operations leadership
  • Prior experience in oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, or similarly regulated industrial warehouse environments strongly preferred
  • Seasoned team management skills with proven ability to lead, coach, and develop operational teams
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency and drive safety performance in high-compliance settings
  • Experience working in multi-site or complex operational environments with time-sensitive shipping requirements
  • Strong proficiency with warehouse systems, operational tracking tools, and reporting platforms
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, and reporting systems), with the ability to use basic functions to support documentation, communication, reporting, and day-to-day operational tracking.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and leadership capabilities
  • Hands-on experience supporting compliance-driven material handling, staging, and dispatch operations

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate warehouse and dockside activities across multiple facility locations, ensuring alignment with operational priorities
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency, with a focus on shipment readiness for vessel transport
  • Ensure facility readiness for regulatory inspections, audits, and jurisdictional compliance requirements within a highly regulated environment
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all warehouse and dock operations, ensuring a secure working environment
  • Prepare written incident documentation and communicate appropriately with internal stakeholders and external partners as required
  • Participate in recruitment activities, including interviewing candidates and providing informed hiring recommendations, while also supporting onboarding activities for new hires to ensure a smooth and effective integration into warehouse operations and team workflows.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse processes and material handling workflows
  • Provide support to supervisory functions during peak operational periods and coverage needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational alignment and timely execution of shipment requirements
