About The Position

LA28 is seeking a Head of Warehouse and Distribution to establish and lead the warehouse and distribution operations that will supply all venues for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role involves building a new sub-stream from the ground up, defining the overall strategy, and managing the warehouse team across various competition and non-competition sites. The Head of Warehouse and Distribution will ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with quality standards, and will oversee the deployment of the logistics service provider's fleet as the Games approach and venue demand increases.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of executive warehouse management experience, including managing a facility of similar size, volume, and complexity.
• Previous international Games experience in warehouse and distribution operations, from early planning through Games-time delivery.
• Proven leadership of large warehouse and distribution teams across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Experience developing and executing warehouse and distribution strategy and managing third-party logistics service providers and their fleets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, using it for warehouse planning, inventory reporting, and team communication.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish language skills.
• Experience managing Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment for major events.
• Experience driving continuous improvement across a logistics, warehouse, or planning function.
• Experience setting up new warehouse operations or teams from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the Warehouse and Distribution sub-stream to address emerging priorities and drive strategic logistics initiatives.
• Develop and execute the LA28 warehouse and distribution strategy in line with organizational objectives and Games timelines.
• Lead and manage the LA28 warehouse team, ensuring efficiency and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to warehouse and distribution staff across competition and non-competition sites.
• Oversee the ramp-up and deployment of the logistics service provider's fleet to meet venue delivery requirements.
• Lead the management and performance of the logistics service provider responsible for delivering end-to-end warehouse and distribution operations.
