Head of Technology & Business Systems

Southwest Womens Oncology/OptimumAlbuquerque, NM
Onsite

About The Position

At Optimum, technology is not a back-office utility. It is how patients reach us, calls route, appointments get scheduled, employees execute, information moves, leaders make decisions and new operating capacity gets created. We need a rare hands-on technology leader who can personally solve difficult problems, create order from fragmentation and build a technology environment that becomes more dependable and less dependent on individual heroics. You will lead technology across Southwest Women's Oncology, Optimum Human, Optimum Infusion and Optimum Clinical Research Group. You will inherit a tactical support technician capable of Level 1 and selected Level 2 work. You will provide the advanced judgment, architecture, technical problem-solving, leadership and operating discipline the function requires. This is not a role for someone who has only managed an MSP, delegated technical work or produced roadmaps others implemented.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership across broad enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong hands-on command of infrastructure, networking, identity, Google Workspace, Windows systems, telecom, security and incident response.
  • Experience owning business applications and connecting systems through APIs, webhooks, SSO, SCIM or automation tools.
  • Evidence of systems you personally stabilized, built or materially improved.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions in business language.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare or regulated-environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a practical 12- to 24-month technology roadmap aligned with patient access, operations, growth, financial priorities and risk.
  • Translate technical complexity into clear executive decisions: one issue, three viable options and one recommendation.
  • Communicate risks, incidents, progress and changes before they surprise leadership or users.
  • Run technology through the Optimum Operating System, including measurable objectives, Vital Metrics, disciplined decisions and documented learning.
  • Serve as the primary internal escalation point for complex issues across Google Workspace, Windows Server, Active Directory, identity, endpoints, networks, switches, wireless, firewalls, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, backup, recovery and cybersecurity.
  • Lead critical incidents and personally diagnose unfamiliar problems when vendors or routine playbooks are insufficient.
  • Establish sustainable coverage without becoming the permanent help desk or sole after-hours responder.
  • Own the enterprise application portfolio, including system ownership, administrative control, permissions, costs, renewals, integrations, recovery and lifecycle recommendations.
  • Connect applications through APIs, webhooks, SSO, SCIM, native connectors and automation platforms.
  • Reduce duplicate entry, broken handoffs, shadow systems and manual work.
  • Build technology support for Optimum's dashboards, Vital Metrics, FOCUS meetings and operating workflows.
  • Put AI and automation into controlled production only where they deliver measurable value.
  • Own the technical architecture of VoIP, UCaaS, SIP, IVR, routing, queues, softphones, SMS, fax, recording and communications continuity.
  • Connect communications technology with CRM, scheduling and reporting systems.
  • Lead and develop our tactical support technician.
  • Build a narrow bench of strong specialists rather than depending on one generalist MSP.
  • Define clear scopes, outcomes, documentation, knowledge transfer and accountability for every provider.
  • Maintain company-controlled access so no employee or vendor becomes an institutional point of failure.
