About The Position

Aios Medical's overarching mission is to build the AI operating system for consumer healthcare, aiming to deliver end-to-end care with near-zero marginal human time. The company believes in an automated, intelligent, radically lower cost, and consumer-centric future for healthcare, leveraging the golden age of biology. They are determined to replace slow, expensive, legacy workflows with software-driven care delivered at scale. Aios Medical has started by building infrastructure that powers its own brands, including Bolt Healthcare and Fella Health, which currently help patients access life-changing treatment for excess bodyweight. The long-term vision is to extend this infrastructure across many healthcare categories, serving 100 million patients worldwide by 2035, and ultimately building the world’s first trillion-dollar healthcare company. In just a few years, Aios Medical is fast approaching 100k patients and has scaled beyond $200M ARR. It is a young startup backed by top healthcare & consumer investors, including Y Combinator, Global Founders Capital, AngelList Early Stage Fund, BrandProject, and founders of several successful companies. The Head of Talent role is described as a company-building role, not a traditional HR role, with a mandate to recruit the best talent, build an exceptional culture, and manage operational aspects efficiently. The company culture is characterized by extreme standards, ambition, and a team of misfits, builders, obsessives, and high-agency operators who thrive outside traditional corporate normalcy. The role reports directly to the Chief of Staff and works closely with the CEO. It is a fully remote, full-time position, mostly async, with availability expected until midday Pacific Time.

Requirements

  • Proven track record hiring exceptional people who noticeably raised the bar of the teams around them.
  • Strong judgment on talent, knowing how to spot real ability and ignore polish, credentials, titles, and corporate nonsense.
  • Experience building culture intentionally in fast-growing companies where top performers feel challenged, accountable, and proud to work.
  • Strong operator with the ability to build systems, process, and internal infrastructure that make a company sharper and faster.
  • High-agency leader who solves problems quickly, keeps standards high, communicates well, and has no patience for mediocrity or politics.

Responsibilities

  • Build a world-class recruiting function that consistently finds and closes exceptional people across every function and level.
  • Own hiring strategy, sourcing, process design, closing, and raising the bar over time.
  • Help create an environment where extraordinary people can do extraordinary work, characterized by high standards, candor, urgency, integrity, ownership, and intensity.
  • Protect what makes Aios special: its weirdness, ambition, refusal to become corporate, and belief that mission-driven people can outperform larger and richer competitors.
  • Help ensure the best people are stretched, energized, improving, and proud to be at Aios.
  • Own the operational backbone of the company, including payroll, equity administration, onboarding, off-boarding, ATS, HRIS, compliance workflows, documentation, internal processes, and benefits.
  • Build systems that scale without creating bureaucracy.
