About The Position

The Head of Supplier Crisis & Risk Management North America at Volvo Group North America, LLC (Greensboro, North Carolina) is responsible for leading team members within the Crisis & Risk Management team, ensuring performance in a dynamic environment. This role involves managing resources with a growth mindset to handle daily risks and crises, thereby securing deliverables to Volvo Group Trucks North America manufacturing plants and mitigating disruptions. The position also focuses on developing individual contributors to excel and prepare for new challenges. The Head of Supplier Crisis & Risk Management will manage the Group Trucks Purchasing North America crisis governance structure and report status to all applicable stakeholders, including executive management. This role takes the lead in severe supplier crises, coordinating cross-functional resources (internal, consultants, or borrowed from other Volvo Group Purchasing departments) to support the line organization. This includes managing hourly/daily pace, fast escalation, and maintaining a close relationship with the Program & Volume Planning team. The position ensures cross-functional work and alignment with Group Trucks Operations, Group Trucks Technology, and the truck brands regarding crisis cases, mitigation activities, and potential operational impacts. Additionally, the role collaborates with the Crisis Management Strategic Line to develop and implement the crisis management methodology and drive continuous improvement of crisis management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience performing crisis management in supply chain in the truck or automotive industry.
  • 3 years of experience in working in purchasing and procurement.
  • 3 years of experience in managing and analyzing data, including Supplier Dispatch Precision, Backlogs, Parts Data, and Raw Material Source.
  • 3 years of experience in expanding on concise reports and communicating to stakeholders, top management, and suppliers.
  • 3 years of experience in applying lean manufacturing principles.
  • 1 year of experience performing Supply Chain Mapping (Tier-N).
