About The Position

At some point in the future, every business will answer their phone with voice AI. We are building the platform that makes it possible. Phonely builds conversational voice AI agents for high-volume phone workflows. Our customers use us to qualify leads, book appointments, route calls, and resolve real customer conversations in production. We've built the technology. Now we need someone to own the product direction and make sure every feature we ship is driven by real customer needs. About the Role We're hiring a Head of Product to own the strategic direction of what we build and why. This person will be the bridge between our customers, our engineering team, and our business, making sure we're building the right things in the right order. This is not a traditional product management role where you write specs and hand them off. You will be deeply embedded with customers, synthesizing their feedback into product direction, and working hands-on with engineering to ship. You should have strong opinions about what makes a product great and the design sensibility to back it up. The ideal candidate is a former founder or someone with a builder's mentality who thinks in terms of customer outcomes, not feature checklists. You'll have real authority over product decisions and work directly with the CEO. If you've been itching to shape a product at a company that's scaling fast and actually listens to its customers, this is it.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in product management, with at least 2 years at an early-stage or high-growth company
  • Strong design intuition, you care about UX and can evaluate design quality
  • Technical fluency, you can have productive conversations with engineers about architecture and tradeoffs
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize customer feedback into product strategy
  • Experience shipping products that customers love, not just features that check boxes
  • High ownership, low ego, and comfort with ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Nice To Haves

  • Founder experience (especially B2C with strong design focus)
  • Background in AI, voice technology, or SaaS platforms
  • Experience with vibe coding or rapid prototyping tools
  • Previous design or UX background

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap and prioritization based on customer insights, market trends, and business goals
  • Spend significant time with customers and the CS team to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities
  • Translate customer feedback into clear product direction and actionable engineering plans
  • Coordinate across engineering, design, sales, and CS to align on what gets built and when
  • Define success metrics for features and track impact post-launch
  • Drive the product development cycle from concept through launch
  • Make opinionated decisions about scope, tradeoffs, and what we say no to
  • Contribute to company strategy and positioning as a member of the leadership team
  • Build and iterate on product processes as the team grows
  • Stay close to the competitive landscape and emerging trends in voice AI
