About The Position

Tread is seeking a hands-on product leader to serve as the primary product partner for the CEO. This role involves full ownership of the product cycle and execution of critical roadmap areas such as payments and agentic scheduling optimization. The Head of Product will spend significant time with customers, including onsite visits to construction sites, to understand user journeys and value drivers. A key responsibility will be building a system that enables the small team to ship software rapidly. The role inherits a culture where AI tools like Claude Code are utilized across the company, and non-engineers frequently contribute code. The objective is to professionalize the development cadence without sacrificing speed and to create leverage for company scaling. The focus is on shipped solutions and effective feedback loops, rather than corporate bureaucracy.

Requirements

Obsessed with using agent-based workflows, rapid prototyping, and coding agents to ship faster.
Must be using AI daily for research, writing specs, and prototyping.
Ability to hire, manage, and scale the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team.
Ensure the FDE feedback loop (field pain to shipped feature) is tight, immediate, and high-velocity.
7–12+ years of experience shipping software in high-growth, high-stakes environments.
Proven track record of owning product strategy and technical decision-making independently.

Responsibilities

Own the product loop: Convert field-level customer pain into shipped solutions by noon the next day.
Serve as the CEO's primary thought partner on platform strategy, technical architecture, and prioritization.
Drive the AI-native SDLC: Treat the development process as a product, optimizing for speed through coding agents and automated workflows.
Hire and scale the FDE function: Lead the Forward Deployed Engineering team, ensuring they act as 'founders-in-training' who ship customizations directly with customers.
Eliminate layers: Maintain a culture of high agency where there is no committee between a good idea and production.
