About The Position

Impruvon is seeking a Head of Product to lead product strategy and execution, building the Product function from the ground up. This role involves owning the product roadmap across software, connected hardware, and integrations, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, regulatory compliance (HIPAA, state-specific), and audit-ready documentation. The Head of Product will lead discovery by engaging directly with users (caregivers, administrators, individuals receiving care) and observing workflows. They will define clear problem statements, acceptance criteria, and success measures, ensuring engineering can build without guesswork. A key aspect of this role is establishing product practices, coaching the Product team, and aligning cross-functional teams (Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Operations). The role also requires setting the standard for AI integration within the product development process, encouraging the use of AI tools for exploration, prototyping, and decision-making. This is a hands-on role, not purely strategic or managerial, requiring close proximity to customers, requirements, and shipped software.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product management with end-to-end ownership of roadmap (discovery, definition, delivery).
  • Experience leading product people, including hiring and onboarding.
  • Track record of shipping B2B SaaS in close partnership with Engineering.
  • Experience building product process where little or none existed.
  • Strong discovery skills: customer interviewing, problem validation, prototyping, and experimentation.
  • Experience with products where the buyer and user are different.
  • Practical, frequent use of LLMs in day-to-day work.
  • Comfort working with data directly.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Judgment to make decisions with incomplete information and own the outcome.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%) for customer visits, team meetings, and industry events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare technology, IDD services, assisted living, behavioral health, long-term care, or medication management, or another regulated environment.
  • Experience with enterprise, government, or state agency customers, including procurement and reporting requirements.
  • Experience shipping products combining software and connected hardware.
  • Experience with integration-dependent products (HL7, JSON, REST APIs, pharmacy management systems, EHRs).
  • Experience scaling a Product function from a small team.
  • Experience shipping products and internal tools prototyped using AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap and product strategy across software, connected hardware, and integrations.
  • Publish the roadmap to ensure company-wide visibility and understanding of upcoming initiatives.
  • Develop a 12-to-24-month platform vision and advocate for its adoption.
  • Integrate patient safety, HIPAA, and state-specific regulatory requirements from the outset.
  • Treat reporting, audit trails, and business intelligence as first-class product features.
  • Lead product discovery through direct customer engagement, workflow observation, and distinguishing recurring needs from individual requests.
  • Design products for distinct user groups: administrators, caregivers, and individuals receiving care.
  • Design solutions that integrate into existing routines rather than disrupting them.
  • Set the standard for product definition, including clear problem statements, acceptance criteria, and edge-case thinking.
  • Define and measure success metrics before and after product releases.
  • Establish product practices, including problem framing, discovery, decision-making, and outcome measurement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Product team, including hiring new roles as scope expands.
  • Maintain alignment with Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, and Operations on priorities and changes.
  • Support strategic accounts and state-level opportunities where product credibility is crucial.
  • Set the standard for AI integration in product development, exploring its use for codebase exploration, data work, and functional prototypes.
  • Coach the Product team on AI practices and their application in product development.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to define how Product and Engineering work together.
