Clubspeed is the leading venue management software for the places people go to have fun. Since 2007 we’ve served go-kart tracks, trampoline parks, family entertainment centers, escape rooms, tours, and attractions across more than 1,700 locations in 34 countries. Our two platforms, Clubspeed and Resova, help operators grow revenue, improve efficiency, and enhance the guest experience through integrated software that supports bookings, waivers, point of sale, integrated payments, events, memberships, reporting, guest management, and commerce workflows. As Head of Product & Engineering, you own both the product direction and the technical execution for Clubspeed and Resova, leading software development, platform architecture, and delivery. This is a working leadership role: you set the roadmap, make the hard build/buy/rewrite calls, and stay close enough to the code to review pull requests and pair on the problems that matter. You’ll lead the engineering organisation through platform modernization and a PCI audit, with real investment and support behind you.

Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering, including experience leading product and engineering teams, ideally in vertical SaaS
• You’re genuinely full-stack and still write code. You can read and write modern web (React, TypeScript) and have real credibility on at least one back-end stack in play (.NET / C#, PHP / Laravel, Node.js), with strong SQL and AWS instincts
• Hands-on experience inheriting and modernising legacy stacks. You’ve personally led a major migration or rewrite that landed in production with customers still using the system
• You make product decisions with conviction and can defend them to engineers, customers, and leadership alike
• Practical security background and ideally PCI DSS exposure; you can read a SAST report, prioritise the right findings, and lead the response
• Demonstrable, hands-on use of agentic AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, MCP-based agents) in your own daily work, not just as a sponsor
• Player-coach by default, calm under pressure, honest about technical debt, and biased to ship in small, frequent, reversible steps

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision and roadmap across Clubspeed and Resova: discovery, prioritisation, sequencing, and execution against commercial objectives
• Lead all software engineering execution across application development, QA, DevOps, and release management
• Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle: meaningful automated test coverage, CI/CD, security scanning, deploy hygiene, and a healthy on-call and incident-response practice
• Bring hands-on technical credibility to the role: architecture guidance, technical design review, code quality oversight, and the build/buy/rewrite calls on framework modernisation (Angular, .NET, Laravel), staying close enough to the code to review pull requests and pair on the hard problems
• Lead the PCI DSS 4.0.1 remediation programme to a passing audit
• Build an operating cadence that creates visibility, accountability, and follow-through across the organization, and develop the team
• Champion agentic AI across the business, from code generation and review to support and back-office automation, and move the team from curiosity to consistent, measurable gains
• Partner with Customer Success and Sales to stabilise churn and rebuild product trust with the top accounts
