Head of Philanthropy - Range Foundation

Range Group - Job PostingsToronto, ON
Onsite

About The Position

Range Foundation was established in 2006 alongside the founding of the company, reflecting a belief that travel should create lasting value for the people and communities it touches. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated or committed more than $60 million to philanthropic initiatives, grounded in carefully selected projects, trusted partners, measurable outcomes, and a commitment to ensuring that every contribution creates meaningful impact. The Foundation is now entering an important next chapter: creating compelling ways for Range clients to participate in this mission and making purposeful giving a natural extension of the travel experience. We are seeking a Head of Range Foundation to design, launch, and scale a distinctive client philanthropy program across Range Group. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the CEO and Founder, this leader's primary mandate will be to inspire meaningful participation from Range's client community. They will shape a compelling giving proposition, integrate it thoughtfully into the client journey, and build the organizational capabilities required to grow participation over time. Success will be defined first and foremost by establishing client giving as a significant and scalable source of funding for the Foundation. The role combines strategy, customer proposition design, storytelling, relationship building, and hands-on execution - a unique opportunity for a high-performing individual with a deep personal commitment to philanthropy to move from advising organizations to building a platform with enduring social impact.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate is a strategic finance-and-growth-minded leader who combines strong analytical capability with hands-on execution and significant relationship-building experience.
  • Current or former Engagement Manager, Project Leader, or equivalent from a leading strategy consulting firm.
  • Approximately 8–12 years of professional experience, with a track record of building and executing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to move quickly from insight to implementation.
  • A strong growth and customer orientation, with the ability to translate a philanthropic mission into a proposition that inspires action.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, including the confidence to engage senior executives, clients, nonprofit leaders, and external partners.
  • Highly relationship-oriented and energized by meeting people, building networks, hosting events, and representing the Foundation publicly.
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to philanthropy, social impact, community development, or nonprofit service.
  • Combines the analytical discipline of a top-tier strategy consultant with warmth, conviction, and persistence.
  • Sees philanthropy not simply as a professional interest but as an important part of how they want to contribute to the world.
  • Equally comfortable developing an executive-level strategy, having a personal conversation with a client about giving, convening partners at an event, and working through the practical details of scaling a program.
  • Outgoing, credible, and entrepreneurial, with the energy to build something that does not yet exist.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, customer experience, loyalty, luxury travel, or another high-touch client business is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision, proposition, and roadmap for a scalable client-giving program starting with Kensington, with the potential to extend across the broader Range portfolio.
  • Develop a compelling client offering built around carefully curated projects, trusted partners, Foundation matching support, tax receipts for eligible donations, and transparent impact reporting.
  • Identify the right moments, messages, and experiences to introduce philanthropy before, during, and after travel, ensuring participation feels authentic and personal.
  • Partner across Sales, Marketing, Product, Technology, Finance, and Operations, and equip client-facing teams with the stories, tools, and confidence to engage clients effectively.
  • Use segmentation, testing, and performance measurement to strengthen client engagement, repeat giving, and the funding mobilized through the program.
  • Develop a portfolio of credible projects and nonprofit partners, with strong governance, clear outcomes, and transparent evidence of impact.
  • Build relationships with clients, philanthropic leaders, suppliers, and strategic partners, while serving as a visible and credible external ambassador for the Foundation.
