About The Position

Graphite is a technology-enabled growth agency that helps fast-growing companies like Webflow, Calm, and Notion unlock sustainable revenue through content, SEO, and AEO. We are a fully distributed company with a global team located across North America, Latin America, and Europe. We're obsessed with impact. It's foundational to who we are, why we're successful, and how we approach delivering outcomes for clients and ultimately, everyone on the internet. We're building a new service line: Paid AEO. As AI answer engines reshape how people discover products, paid placement inside them is wide open, and Paid AEO sits much closer to our core AEO expertise than to traditional paid search. We're looking for a senior leader to stand this practice up from the ground up, prove it with our clients, and grow it into a team. You'll start with ChatGPT Ads, where there's almost no competition and a real chance to become the best in the category, then use that to expand into the broader paid landscape. This is a build-from-zero role for someone who wants to own a function, not inherit one. This opportunity is full-time and remote, and is open to candidates based in the United States.

Requirements

8+ years leading paid media (paid search, paid social, or programmatic) at scale, in-house or at a top agency, with results you can point to.
A track record of building, not just optimizing. You've stood up a channel, function, or team from scratch.
Senior executive presence. You can win large accounts and keep them.
A bias to ship and comfort with ambiguity. Paid AEO is brand new and there's no playbook yet.
Strong data fluency and command of growth marketing tools (Google Analytics, Google Ads, SEMRush, Ahrefs, etc).

Responsibilities

Stand up and own Graphite's Paid AEO practice, starting with ChatGPT Ads.
Expand the practice beyond ChatGPT Ads, building out our offering for paid search, paid social, YouTube, and affiliates.
Cross-sell Paid AEO into our existing client base and help win new business on the strength of it.
Build, hire, and lead the paid team as the practice scales.
Partner directly with our leadership to shape the strategy and positioning of the function.
Present strategy, insights, and results to client executives, and bring the case studies that make the pitch land.
