About The Position

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a talented and energetic Head of Operations to join our growing Smart Mobility team. This position will be based in our Atlanta, Georgia office. Build the Operating System. Ship the Platform. At TransCore, we’re reinventing how people, goods, and cities move. We operate at the intersection of transportation infrastructure, cloud platforms, data, and AI, powering mission-critical systems used by governments and operators worldwide. We’re building our next-generation Smart Mobility Platform—the foundational system for mobility experiences, business models, and partnerships across cities, operators, and enterprises. We’re an early-stage team moving fast, which means the operating infrastructure doesn’t exist yet. You’ll build it.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or Operations required.
  • 8–12 years of operations, BizOps, or program leadership experience in cross-functional environments spanning product, engineering, and commercial functions.
  • Proven track record of building structure in early-stage, fast-paced, or resource-constrained environments.
  • Exceptional presence and the ability to operate as a peer and strategic advisor to senior leadership.
  • Comfortable holding stakeholders accountable to commitments without relying on organizational authority.
  • A willingness to personally build dashboards, manage tracking tools, and write executive summaries.
  • Ability to fluidly synthesize complex, multi-threaded data into clean, decision-ready executive views.
  • Proven ability to build highly functional integrated schedules, risk registers, and change control processes.
  • Strong instinct for tracking both leading and lagging metrics honestly.
  • Understanding of how marketing, pricing, and customer onboarding connect to delivery milestones.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with managing hardware procurement, site readiness, or physical deployment dependencies alongside software milestones is highly valued.
  • Background in government technology, smart mobility, or regulated infrastructure is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create the integrated operating plan from the ground up—spanning software development, hardware deployment, QA, marketing, commercialization, resourcing, and go-to-market.
  • Partner across leadership to establish shared standards and elevate software delivery governance.
  • Stand up a governance model that produces clear decisions and surfaces risks early.
  • Define and personally build the operational dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that track delivery performance.
  • Own the decision log, risk register, and change control process.
  • Drive every release from integrated planning through go-live and post-launch stabilization.
  • Coordinate software, hardware, QA, and commercial readiness as a single sequenced operation.
  • Issue evidence-based go/no-go recommendations.
  • Partner with marketing and commercialization to sequence go-to-market readiness (pricing approvals, contract execution, customer onboarding) against the core delivery plan from day one.
  • Deliver clear, decision-ready reporting to Program Leadership regarding risks, decisions, and commitments.
  • Sign off on schedule feasibility for all roadmap proposals and maintain a direct escalation path for governance breakthroughs or schedule integrity issues.
