About The Position

Circular Services is the largest privately held recycling and organics service provider in the U.S. It operates over 25 facilities serving major long-term municipal and commercial contracts. The mission of Circular Services is to keep valuable materials in circulation and minimize the cost and environmental impact of landfills. The company services municipal contracts with some of the largest and fastest growing cities in the U.S. including New York City, Austin, San Antonio, and Phoenix. We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of National Account Sales to lead our sales efforts and drive significant growth with commercial accounts across the US. This critical role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and is responsible for developing and executing our national sales strategy and ensuring we meet and exceed our ambitious sales targets. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader and implementor who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building high-performing sales organizations. While New York City, Texas, or Florida are our preferred locations, we are open to discussing other arrangements for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Sales Leadership: 4+ years of experience leading and managing sales teams, demonstrating the ability to inspire and guide them to achieve exceptional results.
  • Hands-on Delivery: A strong preference for a hands-on leadership style, someone who is comfortable with direct involvement in sales processes and execution.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 3-4 days per week to engage with clients, support the sales team, and attend industry events.
  • P&L Acumen: Demonstrated comfort and experience with running or contributing to a P&L.
  • Custom Solution Creation: Proven ability to create and present custom solutions that address specific client challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry Experience: Experience within the waste, recycling, or similar services sectors.
  • Financial Modeling: Comfort with financial modeling and/or business case development.
  • Value-Based Deals: Experience with negotiating and closing value-based deals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop, implement, and refine the national sales strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and in-market processing capabilities. You'll be responsible for creating detailed execution plans to achieve ambitious sales targets.
  • National Service Network: Develop and grow a network of service provider partnerships across the country that can execute nationally scoped service opportunities in all 50 states.
  • Performance Reporting: Regularly report to the leadership team on sales progress against targets, key performance indicators, and market trends.
  • Team Leadership and Development: As the National Sales Strategy develops and progresses, recruit, train, mentor, and lead a high-performing national sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and success.
  • Custom Solutions Development: Work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored, value-driven solutions.
  • P&L Management: Be comfortable with and contribute to the management of the sales P&L, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial drivers.
