About The Position

LangChain is seeking a Head of Narratives to own the company's presence across content, brand, social, and design. This role requires a strategic thinker with an operator's mindset, focusing on consistent, impactful communication to a developer audience. The Head of Narratives will lead an existing team of experts in brand, social, content, and design, providing a unified narrative direction and ensuring high-quality, engaging content is produced and distributed effectively. This is a player-coach position, involving both strategic leadership and hands-on contribution to editorial, creative feedback, and writing.

Requirements

  • Ability to work like a media company operator, thinking in publishing cadences, audience development, and narrative arcs.
  • Experience building and running an always-on content engine at a high standard.
  • Player-coach mentality: experience leading creative and content teams, developing people, and staying hands-on with the work.
  • Strong narrative instincts with a clear point of view on effective brand storytelling.
  • Ability to translate narrative vision into direction across content, brand, social, and design.
  • Analytically grounded: ability to track performance, understand why things work, and use data to inform decisions.
  • Ability to connect creative work to business outcomes.
  • Understanding of what earns trust with technical audiences and ability to orient a creative team accordingly.
  • Collaborative and clear communication style, able to build alignment with domain experts.

  • Background in technical or developer marketing.
  • Familiarity with the AI/ML ecosystem and developer tools.
  • Experience building a content marketing function, including hiring and editorial operations.
  • Track record running brand campaigns, including out-of-home or awareness programs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and spearhead the themes and narratives LangChain should be known for, translating them into a rolling editorial direction.
  • Maintain an always-on editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent flow of valuable content (written, visual, audio) aligned with a coherent point of view.
  • Review and edit content, working with the content marketer to build the program, shape briefs, and write when necessary.
  • Set and uphold LangChain's editorial standards, including voice and quality bar.
  • Shape brand direction in partnership with the brand lead, aligning on brand voice, visual identity, and overall brand strategy.
  • Contribute to major brand moments, providing concept and messaging for campaigns and other initiatives.
  • Ensure brand and narrative are integrated, with the brand feeling like an extension of the editorial point of view and vice versa.
  • Partner with the social lead on strategy, themes, and goals to ensure social amplification of core narratives.
  • Develop a shared point of view on rich media (video, audio) and its role in the content mix.
  • Track performance across content, brand, and social to refine strategy and identify areas for focus.
  • Lead the creative direction for brand design in partnership with the brand designer, owning the visual vision and ensuring consistency across all channels.
  • Provide strong creative partnership and clear direction to the brand designer.
  • Lead the team by being involved in the work, providing feedback, shaping output, and raising the bar.
  • Establish operating rhythms, rituals, and shared workflows for brand, social, content, and design teams.
  • Connect narrative strategy to the needs of marketing, sales, product, and leadership, ensuring team execution aligns with business priorities.
