About The Position

We are seeking the first Head of Marketing for an AI robotics company that has robots working in production today. This role will define the category, own the company narrative, and build the marketing engine and organization. The company has a unique position as an AI robotics lab with a deployed, revenue-generating fleet and a loyal customer base. The marketing function is currently early and embedded in Sales, and the mandate is to transform it into a strategic, compounding function that is process-, technology-, and numbers-driven. This is a player-coach role, requiring a builder who is also hands-on and expects to build an AI-native marketing organization. The Head of Marketing will report directly to the CEO, sit on the leadership team, and own the full marketing stack: category and brand, product marketing, demand generation, events, and PR/communications. The goal is to grow a small team into a large organization that builds and executes a new playbook for the general proliferation of AI robotics.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in B2B marketing with experience scaling a marketing function from 1 to N at a startup (0 to 1 experience is a strong plus).
  • Experience bringing a novel product category to market, creating demand rather than competing in a crowded space.
  • Full-stack marketer with strong product marketing core and depth in demand generation, events, and PR/brand/category communications.
  • Experience across both mid-market velocity and high-touch, high-value enterprise motions.
  • Experience marketing to non-technical operational buyers (plant, operations, and supply chain leadership).
  • Track record of tight, trusted partnership with sales leadership on a shared pipeline number.
  • AI-native: software-capable or deeply curious, already using AI as leverage, and excited to build a marketing organization around it.
  • High-agency, creative, and spiky with strong opinions and a bias to ship.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Boston area; role is in-person at HQ.
  • Not a fit if your playbook is primarily paid-channel demand gen, if you're a brand leader who doesn't own pipeline, or if you've only operated inside large marketing organizations with big teams and agency support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in supply chain (manufacturing, logistics), industrial automation, or robotics (warehouse automation or supply chain services are a good fit).
  • Experience marketing capital equipment, hardware, or other considered physical-product purchases.
  • Experience building or scaling flagship owned events and executive/community programs.

Responsibilities

  • Define Tutor's marketing strategy across both mid-market and enterprise motions and own marketing's contribution to revenue, including pipeline sourced and influenced.
  • Establish measurement and attribution discipline to understand marketing effectiveness across various channels and reallocate resources accordingly.
  • Operate as a full member of the leadership team in partnership with the Head of Sales on a shared pipeline.
  • Own Tutor's narrative and positioning to establish category leadership and leverage the company's timing advantage.
  • Build a quarterly event/PR drumbeat, including a flagship annual Tutor event for press, enterprise relationship-building, and pipeline generation.
  • Systematize founder-led thought leadership and manage the communication of research and product milestones to press, analysts, and the community.
  • Ensure coherence in brand and product architecture as the product line expands.
  • Oversee messaging, customer proof, and sales enablement across product lines and buyer types.
  • Ensure every deployment generates marketing assets such as case studies, quantified ROI stories, and vertical collateral for the sales team.
  • Build the vertical demand engine for the mid-market motion, including landing pages, content, nurture programs, and inbound strategies.
  • Implement account-based marketing for the enterprise motion in collaboration with Sales, focusing on target-account strategy, executive-level content, and programs.
  • Recruit and lead a small, exceptional team amplified by AI agents for tasks like collateral production, research, and campaign operations.
  • Own the marketing budget and vendor/agency relationships, with a preference for building in-house capabilities.

Benefits

  • Fully employer-covered health insurance
  • Managed 401(k)
  • Regular in-office meals
  • Unlimited PTO and holidays
  • Social events
  • Collaborative, low-ego work culture
  • Trust to take ownership and solve real problems
