Head of Marketing, US

HalterBoulder, CO
$210,000 - $210,000Onsite

About The Position

Halter is seeking an exceptional marketing leader to significantly grow its presence in the US market, aiming to make it one of Halter's largest global markets. This senior leader will build brand recognition across all ranching communities and drive revenue performance. The role is crucial for North America's full-funnel revenue, encompassing acquisition, expansion, and retention through strategic marketing initiatives. The Head of Marketing will be accountable for the region's marketing strategy, thinking like a revenue owner first and a marketer second. This involves ensuring marketing effectively supports winning new ranchers and fostering community for existing ones to expand and remain retained. The role requires building a strategy, assembling a team, and owning the demand and pipeline for sustained growth. Support will be provided by the global marketing team in New Zealand HQ, offering brand and strategic frameworks. Feedback and successes from the region will be globalized to enhance marketing efforts across all key markets. Ultimately, the Head of Marketing is responsible for acquiring, expanding, and retaining top ranches in the region.

Requirements

  • A full-funnel revenue thinker, not a channel specialist, with experience owning acquisition, expansion, and retention outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to think in terms of pipeline and revenue contribution, achieved through strategically driving brand awareness.
  • Deeply customer-led, energized by time with customers on ranch and translating that understanding into commercial decisions.
  • A builder and world-class operator, capable of building and leading a high-performing, efficient team, ideally with experience scaling a marketing or growth function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves and playing an ‘executor’ role, while also knowing when to empower the team.
  • Genuinely commercial, comfortable and demanding of being measured on revenue numbers.
  • Ability to move fast on real bets, with an aversion to decisions not backed by data.
  • Operates with first-principles thinking, using global frameworks intelligently and making evidence-based cases for regional adaptations.
  • Strong operator across both brand and demand, comfortable switching between tone-of-voice and CAC/ROI conversations.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, preferring to own outcomes and figure out the path forward.
  • AI-forward as a default operating mode, utilizing AI for content drafting, personalization, and data analysis, treating headcount as a last resort.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling a marketing or growth function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the regional marketing strategy and budget end to end, setting the vision and plan for Halter to achieve category leadership and become one of our largest revenue markets.
  • Be accountable for the organic channel’s contribution to pipeline and CAC, not just content output. Develop a thesis for how Halter earns trusted-voice status in the market without constant paid promotion, and invest resources across organic vs. paid channels based on data-driven decisions.
  • Build a content strategy that compounds, focusing on SEO-driven rancher resources, owned channels, and organic social. Clearly define what ‘compounding’ means in this market (search, community, category education) and eliminate underperforming channels.
  • Partner with sales leadership to determine which field days, expos, and rancher gatherings effectively move pipeline in North America, ensuring they integrate directly into territory manager responsibilities and pipeline.
  • Develop a library of local customer stories and results to serve as acquisition proof points for new ranchers and expansion/retention proof points for existing ones.
  • Work with the Performance Marketing function to manage paid channels in-region, focusing sharply on CAC and pipeline contribution rather than just reach or impressions.
  • Support and drive the enterprise/larger-account pipeline in North America, recognizing the distinct buying committee, proof requirements, and sales cycles for these accounts compared to owner-operator ranches.
  • Own and report on pipeline, CAC, brand awareness, and the complete revenue picture for the region. Design the marketing strategy to address each metric from acquisition through to Net Dollar Retention (NDR).
  • Utilize Halter's global brand as a foundation, making judgment calls on how it resonates with regional customers, including language, imagery, and humor.
  • Build ROI case studies and compelling storytelling, delivered through appropriate channels at the right funnel stage, to address rancher objections (price, proof, switching risk) rather than relying on generic feature messaging.
