Head of Lifecycle Marketing

AdvancedMDSouth Jordan, UT
Hybrid

About The Position

AdvancedMD is seeking a data-driven leader to build and define the Lifecycle Marketing function, transforming marketing into a growth engine for both its established sales-led platform and a new product-led offering. This role owns the entire customer journey from lead nurturing to retention, focusing on automated, signal-driven programs that deliver the right content at the right moment. The Head of Lifecycle Marketing will modernize growth strategies by replacing manual processes with automated programs, ensuring efficient use of human touchpoints. This is a high-visibility role with near-term impact, requiring the design of foundational lifecycle processes, cross-functional alignment, and adaptability to evolving business needs. The position involves working across both sales-led and product-led growth motions, partnering closely with Customer Success, and building a team to scale the function.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of experience spanning marketing, marketing/revenue operations, or a closely related discipline, with a clear center of gravity in lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience standing up or substantially rebuilding a lifecycle, nurture, or marketing-automation function.
  • Experience running a mature lifecycle function, demonstrating sophisticated judgment about what great looks like.
  • Strong command of end-to-end lifecycle strategy: acquisition nurture, onboarding, adoption, and retention.
  • Fluency in behavioral and usage-based triggers and progressive engagement design.
  • Hands-on marketing automation depth, comfortable in Marketo and capable of helping select and operationalize future platforms.
  • Fluency in segmentation, data flows, and building lifecycle instrumentation and attribution.
  • Fluency across sales-led and product-led motions.
  • A player-coach mindset: able to do the work now and lead a small team soon.
  • A collaborative operating style that builds trust across functions (Product Marketing, Growth, Analytics/Ops, Customer Success) and sets boundaries without turf battles.

Nice To Haves

  • B2B SaaS experience, ideally in healthcare, vertical SaaS, or another considered-purchase, multi-stakeholder category.
  • Experience where content and self-serve resources reduce cost-to-serve.
  • Experience rebuilding a marketing technology stack from the ground up.
  • Experience building a nurture motion from nothing and seeing it turn once-dropped leads into real pipeline, with clear lift in lead-to-opportunity conversion, especially in enterprise.
  • Experience standing up automated lifecycle programs across onboarding, adoption, and retention that handle routine moments without manual effort.
  • Experience building a clean, well-run handoff between marketing and a Customer Success org.
  • Experience hiring and leading a team while still doing the work yourself.
  • Judgment from having run a mature lifecycle function as well as having built one from scratch.
  • Excited by the idea of shaping a product-led motion as it comes online.

Responsibilities

  • Turn paid demand into pipeline by building nurture programs for leads that are not sales-ready, particularly for enterprise deals.
  • Own the entire customer journey: design automated, signal-driven programs for onboarding, implementation, adoption, and retention, using self-serve content, help resources, videos, and tailored materials, escalating to human interaction only when necessary.
  • Modernize sales-led growth by replacing slow, manual plays with automated programs that handle work automatically and earlier, optimizing the use of human touch.
  • Work across both sales-led and product-led growth engines, tailoring programs to each on shared infrastructure.
  • Lead the expansion of the product-led motion by bringing deep lifecycle strategy expertise.
  • Design the marketing-to-success handoff, creating an automated layer that passes the baton to human success at the right moment.
  • Build a tight partnership with the Customer Success organization.
  • Build a team and operating model, starting hands-on and then hiring and leading a small team (initial target ~3).
  • Set the playbook for lifecycle marketing, including segmentation, content mapping, measurement, and cadence, to enable scaling without proportional headcount increases.

  • Competitive compensation and total rewards benefits
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with generous company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Hybrid and remote work opportunities
  • Career growth and development support
