About the role We are looking for a Head of Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory who will lead all aspects of these functions. This role reports directly to the CEO and Co-Founder and will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years practicing at a law firm or in-house, with experience in healthcare regulatory law highly preferred.
  • Solutions-oriented with broad-based legal experience and the ability to provide oversight and leadership for all legal needs of the company including enterprise sales, regulatory matters, risk management, and intellectual property.
  • Experience with commercial contracting and negotiation, ideally in biopharma industry.
  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in HIPAA, telehealth laws and regulations, and other related topics.
  • Understanding of dynamics and issues in the biopharma industry, such as biopharma decision-maker constituents, therapeutic assets, diagnostics, real-world data and real-world evidence programs, and / or clinical trial enrollment-related products and services.
  • Existing relationships in the biopharma industry across executive leadership, commercial, marketing, medical affairs, diagnostics, and related teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of our legal, compliance, and regulatory functions, from ensuring company compliance to actively participating in business development negotiations.
  • Play a critical role in overseeing all legal and regulatory matters, providing strategic legal advice, and managing the company's compliance efforts.
  • Guide the organization through complex legal and regulatory challenges, ensuring our business practices align with ethical and legal standards.
  • Build this critical function, hiring and developing talent within the team.
  • Own our Legal function: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements, and legal documents, with a particular focus on owning the legal component of customer contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to ensure customer contracts fulfill business objectives while upholding ethical and legal standards.
  • Own the relationship and manage outside counsel and budgets across all functions of the business.
  • Maintain compliant vendor agreements, NDAs, employment agreement templates, etc.
  • Own our Regulatory and Compliance functions: Identify regulatory risks and design / implement regulatory strategy for our products and projects.
  • Collaborate with Product, Tech, and Business Development teams to ensure our product and services are providing value to customers in a compliant manner.
  • Serve as our point-of-contact and engage directly with the Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory functions of our existing and potential customers.
  • In partnership with the executive running our People function, develop and maintain corporate policies and procedures to ensure ethical and legal compliance across the organization.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
