Head of IT

Mindful Health Solutions
•$210,000 - $260,000

About The Position

Radial is seeking a Head of IT to own the systems the company uses but does not build itself, across more than 250 employees, 27 clinics, and its corporate team. The role covers identity, devices, clinic networks, the EHR, business applications, and the security program. The engineering team owns RadialOS; the Head of IT will partner with engineering on how the systems connect. The Head of IT will lead a team, set systems strategy, integrate technology inherited from two organizations, and make decisions about which systems to retain, consolidate, or retire. The role also owns clinic technology operations, IT budgeting, vendor relationships, and the modernization and automation of employee support. The Head of IT will initially serve as Radial's interim HIPAA Security Officer until that role is filled, and will set company-wide guardrails for safe AI use with patient data.

Requirements

  • Have owned the full IT stack and be able to explain what was consolidated and the resulting savings.
  • Have experience retiring legacy tools successfully.
  • Prioritize automation when support queues grow.
  • Be able to explain security tradeoffs to executives and provide detailed explanations to auditors.
  • Have led IT through an acquisition and know how to prioritize consolidation.
  • Be current on modern IT, including cloud identity, SSO and MFA, device management, and zero-trust access.
  • Have hands-on experience running a HIPAA security program.
  • Have working knowledge of frameworks such as SOC 2 or HITRUST.
  • Have experience leading and developing a team.
  • Use AI in their own work, have automated real IT operations with AI, and understand the associated risks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience deploying an AI-native service management or help desk automation platform.
  • Healthcare provider or health tech experience.
  • Experience administering an EHR or practice management system.
  • Scripting and automation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own Radial's systems strategy, deciding which systems to run, consolidate, or retire and making build, buy, and retirement decisions based on data.
  • Lead technical integration across identity, endpoints, collaboration, networking, telephony, and business applications.
  • Consolidate overlapping systems and vendors inherited from two organizations.
  • Own the EHR and other purchased clinical and business systems, partnering with engineering on their connections to RadialOS.
  • Keep clinics operating by overseeing hardware, connectivity, and devices that support on-site patient care.
  • Own the security program and serve as interim HIPAA Security Officer, managing risk assessments, access controls, vendor risk and BAAs, incident response, and audit readiness.
  • Replace the ticket queue with an AI-native service desk that provides help in Slack and automates routine requests such as access, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Enable the team to build approved, auditable workflows in plain language and measure success by automation rate rather than ticket volume.
  • Implement just-in-time access and automatic access removal with an audit trail that supports HIPAA reviews.
  • Set guardrails for safe company-wide use of AI with patient data.
  • Lead, develop, and grow the IT team and set standards for IT operations and employee support.
  • Own the IT budget and vendor relationships, reducing technology cost per person as the company grows.
