About The Position

The Head of International Banking plays a critical role in making international a competitive advantage for United Community. This is a highly collaborative role, where the individual will lead a team that encompasses foreign currency and trade products, sales and operations as well as has full P&L responsibility. This role requires partnering with designers, operations associates, system engineers, and directly with our operational and business lines to transform their foreign exchange, trade, and other international treasury experiences. Through this collaboration, the individual will define the international product strategy, go to market strategy and develop, launch, and enhance international treasury experiences that will meet the unique needs of our key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred; Certified Treasury Professional designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of demonstrated success in International Banking leadership.
  • Proven success in consultative sales, customer relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proven focus on all areas of Banking services innovation and technology with specific emphasis on international payments products
  • Direct experience in International Product Management, Treasury Management Operations, Commercial Banking Operations or other similar lines of business. Extensive and demonstrated experience with leading and building international products and tools development at financial services or technology companies.
  • Deep domain expertise in the international domain, with extensive knowledge of building the bank's strategy for Trade, Export Receivables (EXIM and/or Private Insurance), and Foreign Exchange solutions.
  • Coordinates multiple functional groups internally and externally to develop corporate strategies for international treasury management solutions. Identifies and analyzes opportunities and makes recommendations based on potential profit impact.
  • Maintains existing international treasury management solutions; develops and implements new or updated solutions working in tandem with internal and external partners. Actively participates in product design, functionality and enhancement/release management and sunsetting.
  • Partners with sales consultants to determine market direction, target customer, pricing, and cost plans; monitors marketing goals against current objectives; partners with treasury risk to oversee risk management/monitoring including regulatory compliance.
  • Drives business P&L and has deep understanding of what revenue levers to pull to make the business profitable.
  • Strong cross-functional leader with ability to drive results with partners across the organization.
  • Superb communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Blend of both strategic and tactical thinking.
  • Strong quantitative background to support data-informed decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Establish or participate in Design Thinking and Agile rituals which establish rhythm for the team, promote ongoing communication, and iterative refinement of roadmaps.
  • Drive build-vs-buy decisions in our product development process, combing the landscape for potential Fintech partners in various stages of maturity.
  • Reimagine international business into a revenue generating business & standup future state business model to shift business from operational mindset to revenue growth.
  • Test and iterate in small-scale pilots to validate concepts, refine them to achieve product-market fit, develop Minimally Viable Products (MVPs) and then scale to drive vertical and horizontal economics.
  • Regularly and systematically use data to uncover opportunities, track product performance, and drive decision making.
  • Prioritize, negotiate and remove blockers to orchestrate successful launch or optimization cycle. Serve as subject matter expert, contributing practitioner, thought leader, career guide and mentor to teams.
  • Build strong relationships with areas such as marketing, operations, production, Legal, compliance, risk management support units and other departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of international products.
  • Develops and sets strategies and goals for the development and marketing of Treasury Management and International Banking products, including market direction, target customer, pricing, and cost plans; monitors marketing goals against current objectives; oversees risk management/monitoring including regulatory compliance.
  • Provides product training for sales and product staff, operational partners, and appropriate customer support partners. May act as a liaison across the footprint for product knowledge and implementation of new banking relationships. Participate in promotional conferences, tradeshows, expos and other related forums.
  • Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
