About The Position

The Head of Infrastructure leads the organization's enterprise IT infrastructure function, ensuring the availability, scalability, security, performance, and resilience of technology platforms supporting business operations. Within Insurance & Investments, the role typically covers cloud and on-premise infrastructure, networks, servers, storage, data centers, end-user computing, IT operations, disaster recovery, infrastructure security, and technology resilience supporting insurance, investment, finance, risk, and customer-facing systems.

Requirements

  • 12–18+ years of IT infrastructure, systems, cloud, network, or technology operations experience.
  • 5+ years in infrastructure leadership.
  • Previous experience as: Head of Infrastructure, Head of IT Infrastructure, Head of Technology Infrastructure, Head of Infrastructure & Operations, Head of IT Operations, Infrastructure Director, Director of Infrastructure, Director of IT Infrastructure, Director of Infrastructure & Operations, VP Infrastructure, VP IT Infrastructure, Head of Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience in Insurance, Banking, Investment Management, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Financial Services preferred.
  • Strong expertise in: Enterprise infrastructure, Cloud computing, Hybrid cloud, Data centers, Networking, Servers and storage, Virtualization, Disaster recovery, Business continuity, IT service management, Infrastructure security, Infrastructure monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP, virtualization, networking, storage, backup, and enterprise systems.
  • Experience with ITIL, service management, SLA/KPI management, and operational governance.
  • Experience leading infrastructure modernization and cloud migration.
  • Strong vendor, budget, procurement, and technology-lifecycle management experience.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity and infrastructure resilience.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as ITIL, CCNP, CISSP, Azure/AWS certifications, VMware, or related credentials are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the enterprise infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead infrastructure architecture, operations, engineering, and service delivery.
  • Manage: Cloud Infrastructure, Data Centers, Servers, Storage, Networks, Virtualization, Operating Systems, End-User Computing, Backup & Recovery, Infrastructure Monitoring.
  • Oversee Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premise environments.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability of critical technology services.
  • Develop infrastructure standards, architecture principles, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Lead network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, connectivity, firewalls, and remote access.
  • Ensure infrastructure security in partnership with the CISO/Information Security function.
  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and IT Resilience capabilities.
  • Define and test disaster-recovery architecture, backup strategies, recovery objectives, and failover processes.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and service-level agreements.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Implement automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, and platform engineering practices where appropriate.
  • Manage infrastructure-related incidents, root-cause analysis, problem management, and service improvements.
  • Establish infrastructure KPIs, SLAs, availability targets, and operational controls.
  • Ensure infrastructure supports regulatory, security, audit, and business-continuity requirements.
  • Manage infrastructure vendors, managed-service providers, telecommunications providers, and technology partners.
  • Lead infrastructure budgets, procurement, licensing, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Manage and develop infrastructure, cloud, network, systems, and IT operations teams.
  • Collaborate with Application, Data, Security, Digital, Finance, Risk, and business teams.
  • Ensure infrastructure can support digital transformation, business growth, and changing technology demands.
