  • Proven experience leading and scaling specialized field-based HV maintenance teams
  • Deep expertise in SEL (Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) relay protection logic, coordination studies, and protection system troubleshooting
  • Advanced knowledge of substation equipment maintenance, including transformers, breakers, GIS systems, and associated infrastructure
  • Expertise in transformer oil chemistry analysis (DGA), power factor testing, SF6 management, and advanced HV diagnostic methodologies
  • Strong familiarity with IEEE 1584, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety best practices
  • Experience supporting NERC-related technical maintenance and compliance readiness activities
  • Ability to influence cross-functional leaders across Engineering, Construction, Reliability, and Operations teams
  • Strategic leadership capabilities combined with strong field execution instincts and operational decision-making
  • A collaborative, safety-focused leadership style that supports mentorship, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate highly technical concepts into actionable operational guidance

  • Partner with the Reliability organization to support HV maintenance strategies, resource planning, and execution standards
  • Serve as the operational authority during engineering and design reviews to ensure substations, relay systems, and interconnection facilities are optimized for long-term maintainability
  • Maintain and govern “Golden Records†for relay settings, coordination studies, and protection system documentation
  • Lead technical investigations and response efforts related to relay operations, trips, and fault events, including validation of protection setting changes
  • Develop and maintain the HV Emergency Response strategy for catastrophic failures and grid-impacting events
  • Oversee critical HV spare parts readiness, including transformers, bushings, breakers, and other long-lead infrastructure components
  • Manage and evaluate specialized third-party HV contractors to ensure alignment with Intersect’s technical and operational standards
  • Support rapid restoration and recovery efforts to minimize operational downtime and maintain fleet reliability
  • Review and validate arc flash studies in accordance with IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E standards
  • Translate engineering analyses into practical operational procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work boundaries for field execution
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to optimize relay settings and reduce incident energy exposure while maintaining system reliability
  • Oversee the fleet-wide arc flash labeling program to ensure labels remain accurate and compliant following system modifications
  • Serve as the technical authority for electrical safety training and mentorship for employees and contractors
  • Partner with NERC Compliance teams to maintain technical readiness for standards including PRC-005 and FAC-008
  • Provide accurate maintenance records, testing documentation, and technical validation to support regulatory compliance activities
