About The Position

The Head of Growth Strategy is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, owning, and executing the agency’s growth strategy while ensuring operational clarity, revenue quality, and an exceptional client experience. This role partners closely with executive leadership to translate vision into scalable systems, sustainable revenue streams, and repeatable growth models—without compromising creative excellence or company culture. The Head of Growth Strategy serves as a strategic operator, balancing long-term planning with hands-on execution to drive profitability, efficiency, and client value.

Requirements

  • Strategic and analytical thinking with strong execution discipline.

  • Strong understanding of agency business models, retainers, project work, and pricing structures.
  • Advanced financial literacy, including forecasting, budgeting, and revenue modeling.
  • Experience designing and implementing operational systems and performance metrics.
  • Ability to evaluate new markets, partnerships, and service offerings.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire trust and alignment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Strategy, or related field required.
  • 8–15+ years of experience in growth, strategy, operations, or revenue leadership roles.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced business education is preferred but not required.
  • Experience within a creative agency, consultancy, or high-growth service organization strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of scaling revenue, improving margins, and building repeatable systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the agency’s growth strategy across clients, service offerings, and new revenue streams.
  • Identify and scale opportunities within retainers, project-based work, partnerships, and intellectual property (IP).
  • Define positioning, pricing strategies, and value articulation to improve revenue quality and margins.
  • Translate creative ambition into commercially viable, scalable growth pathways.
  • Evaluate market trends, client demand, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Own the operational growth cadence, including planning cycles, resourcing models, timelines, and delivery frameworks.
  • Design and implement systems that reduce friction, dependency on founders or executives, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Improve internal predictability, efficiency, and margin performance through better processes and accountability.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to oversee financial performance, forecasting, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Elevate client engagement from task-based execution to relationship ownership and strategic partnership.
  • Establish and enforce standards for proactive communication, anticipation of client needs, and thoughtful execution.
  • Act as an escalation point for high-level client issues, ensuring trust, clarity, and long-term retention.
  • Ensure that client experience aligns with the agency’s brand promise and standard of care.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Client Business, Media, Strategy, and Operations leaders to align growth priorities.
  • Provide clear direction, priorities, and frameworks that enable teams to execute effectively.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and clarity without adding unnecessary complexity.
  • Participate in senior-level client conversations related to growth, scope expansion, pricing, and long-term partnership strategy.
  • Support client retention and expansion efforts by aligning agency capabilities with client business objectives.
  • Represent the agency as a strategic growth partner rather than a service provider.
  • Translate executive vision into clear growth roadmaps, priorities, and execution plans.
  • Establish dashboards, metrics, and reporting frameworks to guide decision-making.
  • Drive alignment between revenue goals, operational capacity, and team structure.
  • Reduce operational bottlenecks and founder dependency through systems and delegation.
  • Develops and implements projects and programs to standardize efforts; improve processes; and reduce, avoid, or contain costs.
  • May directly manage leaders within Growth, Operations, or Client Business functions.
  • Provides mentorship, direction, and performance guidance to senior team members.
  • Holds teams accountable for results while empowering autonomy and ownership.
