About the Team Postman is the world’s leading API platform, used by millions of developers and thousands of organizations to design, build, test, and operate APIs that power modern software. As APIs become the backbone of digital business and AI-driven systems, enterprises rely on Postman to ensure the quality, security, and governance of the APIs that run their most critical applications. Financial services has emerged as one of Postman’s fastest-growing and most strategic customer segments. Banks and financial infrastructure providers are increasingly building platform businesses powered by APIs, enabling everything from payments and open banking to embedded finance and AI-driven services. To accelerate our momentum in this market, we are launching our first vertical-focused sales team dedicated to financial services. We are looking for a Head of Financial Services, Americas to build and lead this effort. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, based on the East Coast (preferably New York City or Boston). You will lead Postman’s enterprise sales team for the banking and financial services industry. This team will focus on both expanding relationships with our largest existing financial services customers and landing new enterprise accounts across the sector. Financial institutions depend on APIs for secure money movement, partner integrations, and customer-facing digital experiences. These use cases demand exceptional API quality, governance, and security, making Postman a critical platform for engineering teams across the industry. You will build and lead a team of Strategic Account Executives and Key Account Directors focused on the largest banks, insurance and financial infrastructure companies in the world. As well as midsize and regional banks across the US, Canada and LATAM. Beyond leading the team, you will act as the executive face of Postman within the financial services ecosystem, working directly with customers, representing Postman at industry events, and helping shape how our platform evolves to meet the needs of this market.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of enterprise software sales experience, with significant experience in financial services
  • Proven success selling into engineering and technology leadership at large banks and financial institutions
  • Experience leading strategic enterprise sales teams and closing complex multi-million-dollar deals
  • Deep understanding of the financial services technology landscape, including banking platforms, fintech infrastructure, and modern API ecosystems
  • Comfortable operating as both a strategic leader and hands-on seller
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to represent Postman with credibility in industry forums
  • A builder who thrives in creating new go-to-market motions and vertical strategies
  • Passionate about modern software development, APIs, and the future of platform businesses

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Postman’s Financial Services Enterprise Sales team
  • Drive revenue growth across global banks, major insurance companies, payments networks, and regional financial institutions
  • Own both customer expansion and new logo acquisition across the segment
  • Lead from the front, spending significant time in the field with customers and prospects
  • Develop trusted relationships with engineering, platform, and technology leadership within financial institutions
  • Partner closely with internal Product and Engineering teams to ensure Postman’s platform evolves to meet the needs of financial services customers
  • Represent Postman at industry conferences, events, and publications
  • Operate as the GM of this segment, setting strategy and driving outcomes
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of enterprise sellers
