About The Position

Andrenam is looking for a Head of Finance to build and lead our finance function from the ground up. This is a founding role: you'll set the financial strategy, stand up the systems and processes we don't have yet, and act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team as we grow in the maritime autonomy and defense industry. You'll own everything from day-to-day accounting to long-term financial planning, and you'll be the person leadership turns to for the numbers behind every major decision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally at a startup or high-growth company.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Expertise in financial accounting, compliance, and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or CPA.
  • Experience with fundraising, venture capital, and investor relations.
  • A track record of building financial systems and processes from scratch.
  • Experience in manufacturing, technology, or aerospace.
  • Experience managing state, federal, and local tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax.
  • Experience streamlining accounting processes or implementing new financial systems to improve efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement our financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning, and advise senior leadership on the decisions that strategy should drive.
  • Lead the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting process end to end, translating the numbers into recommendations leadership can act on.
  • Manage our relationship with external auditors and ensure smooth year-end audits.
  • Support fundraising and investor relations, building the financial models, presentations, and due diligence materials investors need.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to keep operations and growth initiatives funded.
  • Build the capital management strategy that determines how we allocate resources as we scale.
  • Establish and continually improve our financial systems, tools, and processes so our infrastructure scales with the company.
  • Run day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Oversee tax compliance across sales, payroll, and federal and state filings, coordinating with external tax advisors as needed.
