Head of Finance

Topline ProNew York, NY
$230,000 - $260,000

About The Position

We're hiring our first Head of Finance to build the finance function from the ground up as we scale from Series B and beyond. Reporting directly to our CEO, you'll be the operating partner on every major financial decision, owning FP&A, forecasting, accounting, board reporting, fundraising support, and the financial systems that will power the next phase of our growth. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of strategy and operations at an AI-native company with real revenue, real unit economics, and a massive market. You'll partner with the CEO and leadership team on capital strategy, build the core financial operating systems, and own the numbers that determine how we allocate capital. This role will be a key leadership position at Topline Pro. Topline Pro is building AI powered Shopify for service businesses. We help service pros (e.g., roofers, landscapers, painters, cleaners) acquire direct business, fast. Up and running within minutes using Gen AI, our digital storefront products help pros get discovered, trusted, and booked repeatedly. Topline Pro is co-founded by Nick Ornitz (CEO) and Shannon Kay (CPO) with an excellent team of 100+ rockstars with plans to expand more in 2026. We serve thousands of local service businesses and were named as one of the 2023 and 2024 top 50 Tech Companies building for SMBs. We're YC-backed and well funded with years of runway, and we’ve experienced rapid growth in the past year. We're in a phenomenal position to scale—with the financial foundation, product-market fit, and momentum to go big. You’ll be joining at an inflection point—where the groundwork is laid and the path to massive impact is clear.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in finance, with a mix of investment banking, consulting, private equity, or Big 4 and operating experience at a high-growth venture-backed company (SaaS or vertical SaaS strongly preferred)
  • Track record of owning FP&A end-to-end: model, forecast, board materials, and operating cadence
  • Hands-on accounting fluency: you don't need to close the books yourself, but you know GAAP, revenue recognition, and when to push back on your controller or auditors
  • Experience running or materially supporting a priced equity round: diligence, data room, model defense, investor Q&A
  • Strong command of SaaS economics and reporting
  • Excellent communicator: you can translate a forecast into a decision for a CEO, a board, and exec team
  • Direct experience with embedded payments / fintech economics: you've owned or materially contributed to the financial model for a payments business line (vertical SaaS payments, ISO, referral, or PayFac). You can talk credibly about interchange, assessments, processor margin splits, and reserve economics
