About The Position

AI Company is building an AI powered collaborative workspace for biopharma’s commercial and clinical teams. We focus on both human to human collaboration and human to AI collaboration. More concretely, we are building fundamental, AI-native, building blocks for knowledge work that both humans and reasoning AIs can use for doing work on behalf of biopharma companies. We integrate deeply with pharma’s data systems and layer on advanced AI to assist in decision-making across critical research and development processes. We help scientists and pharma companies bring life-saving therapies to market faster and more efficiently . We’re backed by top investors—including Y Combinator, Wireframe Ventures, and Crosslink Capital—and have strong traction with major pharma clients. Requirements

• Culture of excellence. You’ve worked in engineering teams with an extremely high bar for excellence and know what great looks like.
• AI native. You’ve been working with LLMs for the past few years and are comfortable working with vector databases, RAG systems, and prompting. You’re driven to stay up to date with SOTA techniques and models to get the most out of advances in AI.
• World class engineer: 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience, comfortable operating at both an architectural and code level. You can operate on a first-principles level and balance trade-offs between speed and technical debt.
• Front-to-Back Mastery: Familiar with React, TypeScript, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Python, and comfortable learning new tools at breakneck speed.
• Startup DNA: You’ve thrived in an early-stage environment before or are excited to push yourself to the next level and build from the ground up. You’re action oriented, light on your feet, solve ambiguous problems, and own outcomes. You balance the tension between moving fast and pivoting when you see a better path with long term thinking and a high engineering bar.

Responsibilities

• Work at the founding executive level to set the vision, drive the roadmap, hire and manage a team of engineers and PMs, implement product development cycles, and build an elite engineering culture.
• Define the product & technical vision for our AI-powered Workspace
• Continuously scan emerging AI research to implement cutting-edge techniques (retrieval, LLMs, agentic AI, RAG systems, multi-step agents, vector DBs, etc.) and help align team and resources towards prioritization and execution.
• Be the cross-functional glue—aligning engineering, product, and business goals to meet both short-term traction and long-term vision.
• Lead execution and set a culture of engineering excellence.
• Write and review code across our stack (React, TypeScript, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Python).
• Push on building rapid prototypes to iterate quickly based on user feedback, and ensure top-notch performance and scalability for when product bets prove out over time.
• Drive best practices in architecture, testing, and DevOps—be the gold standard for code quality and engineering excellence and help raise the team to your level.
• Attract and onboard A+ engineering talent who match our hunger and ambition.
• Mentor existing engineers, instilling a culture of accountability, curiosity, and constant improvement.
• Foster a tight-knit environment of direct feedback, collaboration, and healthy debate—where everyone pulls together.
• Engage with customers, partners, and investors, confidently articulating our technical edge and product strategy.
• Evangelize our mission and AI approach at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
• Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic initiatives, from pricing models to go-to-market strategies.
