About The Position

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh as a Head of Education & Public Entity Captive Strategy for our Captive Strategy practice based out of our Atlanta, GA office. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office. The successful candidate will lead daily operations from a support and administrative level, coordinating complex logistics and task assignments for client relationship projects while ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in casualty/excess liability, captive strategy or ART structures, with a demonstrated focus on public entity and/or education clients.
  • Deep technical knowledge of captive structures, ART solutions, and attachment layer dynamics in the current market environment.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with loss analysis, cash flow modeling and preparing client-ready analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead complex implementations, influence senior stakeholders, and partner effectively with Client Executives and account teams.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality advice and improving client outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, actuarial science, business, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience leading a captive practice or serving in a senior advisory role for captives/P&L responsibility.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Risk/Finance) or professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, ACAS/ASA, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with public entity regulatory frameworks, pooled risk arrangements, and ART product innovations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead captive strategy and alternative risk transfer (ART) advisory for Public Entity and Education accounts, partnering with Client Executives to design and deploy ART solutions that drive client retention and growth.
  • Act as a Senior Client Executive on complex captive implementations when required, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Evaluate client risk profiles by reviewing loss experience, cash flow and financials; develop solution options, leverage analytics, and present clear recommendations across product lines.
  • Establish and monitor account-level growth and retention strategies, support business development efforts, and help retain and generate new business.
  • Serve as a thought leader and primary client contact for moderately complex client needs, ensuring compliance with professional and transparency standards.
