About The Position

Coupang is seeking a Head of Digital Policy Communications to lead our digital communications strategy and execution for Coupang’s US Global Public Policy and corporate communications efforts across our owned, paid, and social media channels. This seasoned leader will oversee the development, governance, and optimization of digital communications platforms, including driving editorial strategy for Coupang’s corporate newsroom. Your work will be mission critical to achieving our public policy and advocacy objectives, as well as establishing Coupang’s US brand and value proposition. As a trusted partner to senior leaders across Policy, Communications, Business, and Legal teams, you will shape how Coupang communicates complex policy issues to external audiences in the DC and Seattle markets. You’ll also serve on the front lines of our brand-building and related marketing efforts inside the Beltway and in other priority markets. You’ll build scalable processes that strengthen Coupang’s digital communications capabilities to support crisis communications and rapid-response efforts, as well as steady-state and high-profile tentpole moments. This role requires a strong leader with deep experience leading digital efforts for US and DC audiences, ideally at global corporations, large tech companies, or for top-tier political campaigns. The ideal candidate will also have experience leading a team in a fast-paced, global environment. Applicants should have strong experience managing and advising in rapid response or crisis communications scenarios, as well as supporting targeted advocacy campaigns in Washington. Experience managing digital agencies, budgets and achieving data-driven results is key. Executive presence and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to senior leaders are essential.

Requirements

  • Build and lead digital communications and rapid-response strategies that advance Coupang's public policy, corporate reputation, and business objectives with U.S. and Washington, D.C. audiences.
  • Oversee Coupang's U.S. digital ecosystem, including corporate websites, newsroom platforms, and social media channels.
  • Lead paid media and targeted advocacy campaigns that amplify priority messaging, influence key stakeholders, and strengthen brand reputation.
  • Partner closely with Public Policy, Communications, Legal, Government Affairs, and business leaders to develop and execute integrated communications strategies.
  • Translate complex policy, regulatory, and business issues into compelling digital content and storytelling for policymakers, media, and other external stakeholders.
  • Build scalable content operations, including editorial planning, publishing workflows, governance frameworks, and rapid-response processes.
  • Leverage analytics and audience insights to measure effectiveness, optimize performance, and inform communications strategy.
  • Anticipate and mitigate reputational risks while ensuring communications readiness during high-profile and fast-moving situations.
  • Establish best practices for digital storytelling, audience engagement, accessibility, and channel management across platforms.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of communications professionals while managing agency partners and external vendors.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging digital trends, technologies, and platforms that expand reach and increase communications impact.
