About The Position

The Head of Developer Relations owns how developers discover, learn, adopt, and champion Fireworks. This role involves building and leading a team that establishes Fireworks as the preferred platform for developers building, fine-tuning, and serving frontier open models in production. The position requires setting strategy, running programs, and building a team to foster the most informed and active developer community in AI infrastructure. The Head of Developer Relations will cultivate developer communities across various platforms, both owned and unowned, and in person at key events. They will build a team of developer advocates who are experts in the latest AI developments and can stay ahead of the rapidly evolving field. The ideal candidate is a builder and operator, comfortable with tasks ranging from shipping demos and speaking at conferences to recruiting advocates and reporting on developer health metrics. This role requires a product-oriented mindset, focusing on understanding the developer user, their needs, adoption patterns, and measuring success.

Responsibilities

Cultivate Fireworks developer communities across all surfaces where developers gather, including owned properties (docs, blog, examples, cookbooks, Discord, forums, developer newsletter) and unowned properties (GitHub, X, Reddit, YouTube, Hacker News, open-source projects).
Own the in-person events strategy, including hackathons, workshops, meetups, conference talks, sponsorships, and developer dinners, to build real relationships at scale.
Decide where Fireworks shows up, what message is delivered, and who delivers it, measuring impact on durable adoption.
Build and lead a team of developer advocates who become credible experts on new models, techniques, and tools quickly.
Develop an operating system for the advocate team to stay current with rapid AI developments, including a fast-learning loop for new releases, clear ownership, content and speaking standards, and a culture of shipping and learning in public.
Own the content engine for developer education, including tutorials, quickstarts, reference apps, benchmarks, videos, and technical writing on inference, fine-tuning, and serving open models.
Act as the voice of the developer within Fireworks, channeling feedback to product and engineering and closing the loop with developers.
Instrument the developer journey from awareness through production usage and report developer health metrics to the executive team.
