Head of Delivery & Operations

Intervene K-12Houston, TX
Onsite

About The Position

Intervene K-12 is seeking an exceptional, highly resourceful Head of Client Delivery & Operations to build and lead the operating system behind its online, in-person, hybrid, software, hardware, and SaaS-enabled programs. This leader will own client implementation and ongoing service delivery across Intervene K-12’s state, federal, and school-district contracts throughout the United States, with the potential to support international opportunities as the company expands. This role requires founder-level ownership and involves personally walking tutoring sites, coordinating physical setups, understanding software workflows, managing hardware readiness, troubleshooting launches, engaging vendors, diagnosing operational failures, and solving problems in real time. The successful candidate will perform direct work today while building the people, systems, processes, technology, and infrastructure that allow the company to scale tomorrow. Intervene K-12 is a 10-year-old company operating with the urgency, ambition, and growth mentality of a high-growth startup, delivering services and technology through state-level contracts, federal contracts, school-district partnerships, online tutoring, in-person tutoring, hybrid models, SaaS products, software and data platforms, hardware deployments, and distributed teams. The company is operating at the edge of education and technology, incorporating AI and automation. This environment requires a leader who can bring discipline and repeatability without slowing down the company’s entrepreneurial speed. The Head of Client Delivery & Operations will become the company’s primary owner of execution, taking a signed contract or complex client commitment and determining what must be delivered, what resources are required, potential risks, launch timelines, costs, performance metrics, and how to build a repeatable system for future launches. The goal is to build the execution capability that allows Intervene K-12 to pursue and deliver increasingly complex opportunities without depending on the CEO to personally solve every operational challenge.

Requirements

  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in operations, implementation, engineering, logistics, service delivery, field operations, consulting, program management, military leadership, or another complex execution environment.
  • Demonstrated success personally building, launching, repairing, or scaling an operation.
  • Experience taking ambiguous goals and converting them into clear execution plans.
  • Experience operating before a complete team, mature infrastructure, or established playbook was available.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving people, technology, vendors, budgets, timelines, and performance requirements.
  • Experience implementing or operating software, SaaS, digital platforms, or another technology-enabled service.
  • Ability to understand software workflows, configurations, integrations, data requirements, user access, technical dependencies, and support escalations.

  • Exceptional learning agility and the ability to rapidly understand new industries, regulations, client environments, and operating models.
  • Ability to lead Director-level professionals, functional teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, clients, technical teams, front-line employees, vendors, and community partners.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity, changing priorities, incomplete information, and fast-moving opportunities.
  • Willingness to perform direct operational work before a complete team is built.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to work onsite in Houston, Texas.
  • Demonstrate the ability and commitment to quickly learn the requirements of K-12 service delivery, student safety, instructional quality, government contracting, district operations, and education-related performance expectations.
