The Vice President, Global Marketing, Critical Care is responsible for driving sustainable growth, portfolio value creation, and market leadership for the global Critical Care business. As a key member of the business leadership team, this role defines and executes the global portfolio strategy while leading innovation, commercialization, and lifecycle management across the handheld and benchtop blood gas portfolio. The VP serves as the voice of the customer and market within the organization, translating healthcare, customer, and competitive insights into strategic priorities, investment decisions, and commercial actions that deliver long-term business value. This leader is accountable for partnering across R&D, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regional Organizations to ensure innovation investments, portfolio decisions, and go-to-market strategies are aligned with both near-term performance objectives and long-term growth ambitions. Success in this role will be measured by portfolio growth, market share expansion, successful commercialization of innovation, customer adoption, profitability, and the development of a high-performing global marketing organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, strategy, portfolio management, or commercial leadership within healthcare, diagnostics, medical technology, or life sciences.
  • Proven success developing and executing portfolio strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global product innovation, commercialization, and lifecycle management efforts.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with experience using market and financial analytics to drive strategic investment decisions.
  • Experience leading global or regional teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies and healthcare markets with an understanding of regional market dynamics and customer needs.

  • Experience in critical care, point-of-care diagnostics, acute care testing, blood gas analysis, or adjacent healthcare markets.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the global marketing and portfolio strategy for the Critical Care business, aligned with enterprise priorities and regional market needs.
  • Drive portfolio prioritization, lifecycle management, and investment decisions to maximize long-term growth, profitability, and shareholder value.
  • Lead market assessment, customer segmentation, competitive analysis, and strategic planning to identify growth opportunities and inform business decisions.
  • Champion customer-centric decision-making by incorporating deep understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare economics, unmet needs, and evolving market dynamics.
  • Lead the marketing strategy for new product development, ensuring customer and market insights are translated into differentiated innovation opportunities and prioritized investments.
  • Partner closely with R&D to shape portfolio roadmaps, product requirements, and innovation priorities that address future customer and market needs.
  • Guide business case development and investment decisions using financial, commercial, and strategic evaluation frameworks.
  • Drive successful launch planning and commercialization strategies to accelerate adoption and achieve business objectives.
  • Leverage market intelligence and financial metrics including revenue growth, market share, gross profit, NPV, and P&L performance to guide strategic decisions.
  • Lead forecasting, scenario planning, and performance management processes to optimize resource allocation and investment priorities.
  • Ensure marketing and portfolio strategies are supported by rigorous analytics, measurable outcomes, and clear return-on-investment expectations.
  • Partner with Finance to align forecasts, budgets, and long-range planning efforts.
  • Translate global strategy into scalable commercial frameworks, tools, messaging, and programs that enable consistent execution across regions.
  • Partner with regional marketing and commercial leaders to drive growth while balancing global consistency with local market requirements.
  • Own commercial performance outcomes and strategic growth initiatives, adjusting priorities as market conditions and competitive dynamics evolve.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage digital, AI-enabled, and workflow innovations that enhance customer value and strengthen competitive differentiation.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the Critical Care business with key customers, thought leaders, industry associations, and strategic partners.
  • Represent the business at industry events and customer engagements to strengthen market position and identify emerging trends.
  • Foster strategic partnerships that expand market presence and accelerate growth opportunities.
  • Partner with R&D, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial organizations to drive business outcomes and successful portfolio execution.
  • Lead and align stakeholders across a highly matrixed global organization, influencing decisions and driving accountability without direct authority.
  • Ensure value propositions are differentiated, evidence-based, and aligned with customer, clinical, and economic needs.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global marketing organization with strong strategic, analytical, and commercial capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and develop future leaders while strengthening organizational capabilities in portfolio management, commercialization, customer engagement, and strategic marketing.
