Head of Consolidation Accounting

LambdaSan Jose, CA
$191,000 - $255,000Hybrid

About The Position

The Accounting team at Lambda owns the integrity of our financial statements as the company scales at extraordinary speed across a growing number of legal entities, currencies, and business lines. As Lambda prepares for the rigor of being a public company, this team is building the consolidation processes, systems, and controls that will support that next chapter - accurately, efficiently, and at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant time in consolidations and multi-entity/intercompany accounting; public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm) strongly preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • Deep hands-on experience with NetSuite OneWorld, including intercompany management, multi-subsidiary consolidation, and elimination functionality; experience serving as a business process owner or system administrator for NetSuite is a strong plus.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of consolidation principles under US GAAP (ASC 810, ASC 830 foreign currency, ASC 805 business combinations as applicable).
  • Experience designing and owning SOX controls, including partnering directly with internal and external auditors.
  • Track record of building or significantly improving consolidation and close processes at a high-growth, multi-entity company.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Accounting Operations, FP&A, Tax, and Financial Systems teams.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead system and process design initiatives from requirements through implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex consolidation and technical accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience at a company that scaled through an IPO or was preparing for one (S-1 process, auditor readiness, public company reporting timelines).
  • Experience with consolidation or close automation tools (e.g., BlackLine, OneStream, Trintech) integrated with NetSuite.
  • Experience with multi-currency, multi-entity structures spanning international subsidiaries and local statutory reporting.
  • Experience with equity accounting for non-controlling interests, joint ventures, or variable interest entities.
  • Experience in a capital-intensive or infrastructure-heavy business (e.g., data centers, cloud infrastructure, hardware).

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end consolidation of Lambda's financial statements across all legal entities, including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency, minority interest, and topside/consolidating journal entries.
  • Serve as the business process owner for NetSuite as it relates to consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity/multi-book structure — partnering with Financial Systems on configuration, enhancements, and new entity onboarding.
  • Design, document, and continuously improve the intercompany accounting policy, including transfer pricing agreements, intercompany billing/settlement mechanics, and reconciliation and dispute-resolution workflows between entities.
  • Partner with Tax team to support intercompany transfer pricing policies and ongoing settlements
  • Act as the interface between Accounting Operations, Technical Accounting, and Financial Systems to ensure consolidation requirements are reflected in system design, close calendars, and process changes.
  • Own coordination of the accounting close calendar as it relates to consolidation activities, driving adherence to deadlines across corporate and subsidiary teams.
  • Lead process and system design for consolidations as Lambda adds new entities, currencies, and business lines.
  • Serve as SOX control owner for consolidation- and intercompany-related controls; ensure controls are properly designed, evidenced, and operating effectively, and partner with Internal Audit and external auditors on testing.
  • Partner with Technical Accounting on the accounting treatment for new entity structures, acquisitions, equity investments, non-controlling interests, and other consolidation-impacting transactions.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, elimination entries, and supporting consolidation schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Manage statutory reporting requirements and local GAAP-to-US GAAP adjustments across international subsidiaries, in partnership with local finance teams and external advisors.
  • Help build IPO-ready consolidation infrastructure — including scalable close processes, system controls, and reporting capabilities that will support the demands of being a public company (10-Q/10-K timelines, external audit, segment reporting).
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement of the consolidation process, reducing manual effort and close risk as entity count and transaction volume grow.
  • Support the year-end audit by preparing consolidation-related audit deliverables and serving as a key point of contact for auditors on consolidation matters.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff supporting the consolidation and intercompany close process.
