About The Position

The Head of Carrier Relations will work with sales, marketing, technology, and the business to secure the necessary insurance products to help Trove Group meet sales and revenue goals. This position will be responsible for identifying and filling gaps in carrier and product availability, negotiating contracts and working with outside carriers to assist in marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of industry experience, with significant knowledge of health insurance for individuals and families
  • A proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts at the C-suite level
  • Experience with ACA, MedSupp and ancillary products including medical, dental, vision, accident plans and short-term limited duration medical
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Holds self-accountable and pursues excellence
  • High degree of self-motivation, discipline, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience leading and developing an engaged team

Responsibilities

  • Own and nurture relationships with existing carriers
  • Identify and secure new carrier relationships to expand product coverage and market access
  • Responsible for ensuring a full footprint carriers are available (including ACA, Supplemental, MedSupp and Life carriers) in order for Trove Group to function as a Field Marketing Organization (FMO) and hit revenue targets
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand carrier partnerships, improve contract terms, and enhance the FMO's access to a diverse range of insurance products and markets
  • Track and report on key metrics such as submission quality, hit ratios, premium volume, and loss performance to strengthen trust and performance
  • Stay current on market trends, carrier appetite shifts, and competitive dynamics
  • Work with executive leaders, sales, commissions and operations teams to align carrier strategies with business goals
  • Represent the company at industry events to build new relationships and promote reputation
  • Meet department attendance requirements, including being prompt and available during scheduled shift
  • Perform similar job-related duties and projects as assigned
  • Manages multiple employees, both directly or indirectly
  • Manage staff and conduct regular meetings
  • Provide feedback and complete staff performance reviews regarding quality of work as required
  • Maintain time keeping system, including edits and submissions of time sheets and approving time off requests
  • Organizing workflow and ensuring direct reports understand their duties and responsibilities
  • Monitor team performance and report to management on progress
  • Listen to team members feedback to resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Must be capable of managing staff in-person and remotely
