About The Position

Alliance is hiring a Head of Capital Formation to own fundraising for its venture funds end to end, including strategy, pipeline development, LP relationships, and closing commitments. The role leads capital formation across institutional allocators—including funds of funds, family offices, endowments, wealth management platforms, and sovereign wealth funds—as well as high-net-worth individuals. It owns investor prospecting, qualification, pipeline management, the fundraising process, and the investor materials and data room. The Head of Capital Formation is the main point of contact for prospective LPs and works with General Partners on fund positioning, sizing, timing, and the long-term investor relations plan. The position is based onsite in New York City, reports directly to a General Partner, and involves frequent travel, including to San Francisco and internationally. The role has no IR team reporting to it and includes salary plus fund carry.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience raising capital for venture, private equity, private credit, or hedge funds.
  • A record of closing commitments from institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Existing warm relationships with funds of funds, family offices, consultants, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • At least 2 years of experience in crypto, fintech, or technology, with the ability to discuss the investment thesis with allocators.
  • Clear communication, strong negotiation skills, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles in a CRM, maintain a full pipeline, and automate processes where appropriate.
  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial approach and ability to identify problems and carry ideas through to completion.
  • Ability to work onsite in New York City and relocate there if not already able to do so.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including to San Francisco and internationally.
  • Willingness to commit the focus and effort demanded by the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Venture fund fundraising experience.
  • Experience raising for an emerging manager or early fund, selling on conviction rather than a long track record.
  • Relationships with crypto-native or AI-focused allocators.
  • Prior placement agent or in-house investor relations experience at a venture firm.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute Alliance's capital formation plan across institutional allocators and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Source and qualify prospective LPs, manage the fundraising pipeline, and bring prospects to General Partners at the appropriate time.
  • Run the fundraising process through signed commitments, including sourcing, pitching, and closing.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for prospective LPs and communicate Alliance's strategy, track record, and competitive edge.
  • Own the fundraising deck, data room, and investor materials.
  • Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective allocators, maintain relationships between raises, and encourage repeat fund commitments.
  • Work with General Partners on fund positioning, sizing, timing, and the long-term investor relations plan.
  • Travel frequently, including to San Francisco and internationally.

Benefits

  • Salary plus fund carry.
  • Opportunity to work with founders in crypto and AI and learn from hundreds of startups.
  • Career development through experience and network-building for future high-impact roles in crypto, AI, venture firms, startups, or fundraising a fund.
