About The Position

Clocktower Ventures, the venture investing arm of Clocktower Group, is seeking a Capital Formation professional to own the operating engine behind fundraising and limited-partner (LP) engagement. The role is based in the Santa Monica office and works closely with the Partner and the venture team to market the firm’s funds and strategy. The position independently manages fundraising processes from initial outreach through diligence, closing, and ongoing LP servicing. It owns investor relationship tracking, CRM and pipeline management, due diligence materials and data room administration, transaction documentation, meeting and roadshow coordination, investor communications, and the systems and workflows that support a scalable fundraising function. The role also helps raise Clocktower Ventures’ profile through its website, public relations, speaking opportunities, and curated events, while coordinating across investment, operations, legal, compliance, marketing, and management teams.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of fundraising, fund marketing, capital formation, or investor relations experience at a private equity, venture capital, or other alternative investment firm, with hands-on experience running LP processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the lead, work independently, move work forward, and deliver on time to a high standard.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective systems and processes, manage multiple priorities, and follow work through to completion.
  • Interest in learning about venture capital, startups, and investing, including the rationale behind the work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting, editing, and presenting high-stakes documents and materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and genuine interest in building relationships with colleagues, LPs, founders, and partners.
  • Expert-level CRM skills with Affinity, Salesforce, DealCloud, or a similar platform; high proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to build and maintain clean lists, trackers, and databases, and to design intuitive, scalable workflows and automations that earn team-wide adoption.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Based in Santa Monica, California, or willing and able to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day fundraising and LP servicing processes from first outreach through diligence, closing, and ongoing reporting; track investor status and next steps.
  • Own due diligence questionnaires and data room processes, keeping materials current, organized, and investor-ready in coordination with investment, operations, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Manage data room access and use activity tracking to inform investor follow-up.
  • Own the CRM as the single source of truth and maintain clean, current investor lists, target pipelines, and trackers.
  • Track NDAs, side letter requests, and subscription documents through closing; coordinate LP onboarding, capital calls, and reporting with operations.
  • Coordinate investor meetings and roadshows from planning through follow-up.
  • Help raise Clocktower Ventures’ profile through its website, public relations, speaking opportunities, and curated events.
  • Draft, edit, and polish quarterly LP letters, investor updates, pitch decks, and other marketing materials.
  • Design, implement, and improve workflows, templates, and tools that help the marketing and fundraising function scale.
